Just Transition Plans

A just transition plan is a comprehensive strategy to support communities, workers, and industries affected by the transition away from fossil fuels. A robust plan includes a thorough analysis of potential impacts, identification of vulnerable populations, and the development of policies and recommendations to address their needs. This may include measures such as job retraining programs, income support mechanisms, investment in alternative industries, and community development projects.

Collaboration among various stakeholders, including government agencies, industry representatives, labor unions, environmental organizations, and community groups, is often a fundamental part of the development and implementation of these plans. Strong plans will include a robust, transparent, and accountable community and stakeholder engagement process.
