Delaware
Delaware’s greenhouse gas emissions have dropped by 29% from 2005-2022. The nation’s second-smallest state consumes much more energy than it produces, with over one-third used by the industrial sector, as chemical manufacturing and petroleum refining are large contributors to the state’s GDP. Delaware’s in-state electricity generation is dominated by natural gas at over 80%, with renewables constituting 12%, mostly from solar.
